Their coat is white in the winter and mostly brown in the summer which gives them excellent camouflage protection against other predators that might enjoy a weasel meal like the great horned owl. The least weasel is the smallest member of the weasel family with the wolverine being the largest in North America. It is in fact the smallest species of a true carnivore in the world with a weight that can range from only 45 – 100 grams.
