BC Conservative Rosalyn Bird has won the Prince George-Valemount riding, according to poll results reported by CBC.
As of writing at 8:31 p.m., Bird has won about 55 per cent of the vote, followed by NDP candidate Clay Pountney at roughly 36 per cent, and Green candidate Gwen Johansson at about 10 per cent.
Bird’s platform emphasized giving more authority to local government on issues such as agricultural land use, as well as privatizing healthcare and bolstering tourism throughout the riding. This will be her first-ever term as an elected official.
