As of 6:14 a.m. PDT today, Highway 93 is open to through traffic, according to 511 Alberta. However, stopping along the highway north of the Icefields – including at rest stops and scenic lookouts – is prohibited, as hazard assessments have only been completed on the road.

Toilets and day use areas are closed, so drivers should plan ahead for their fuel, food, and restroom use before using the highway. There is no estimated date for reopening these areas, the 511 Alberta listing says.

Cell phone coverage in the area is limited or unavailable on Highway 93 north, and search and rescue services are limited as these resources are dedicated to wildfire management.

511 Alberta did not include a timeline for their next Highway 93 update. Drivers can check 511.alberta.ca for updates.
