The Village of McBride Council met for a special meeting on March 19, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m., by Mayor Gene Runtz.
There was one item on the agenda for the public portion of the meeting.
Signing authority
Council authorized Brian Taphorn, Public Works Manager, as a signing authority on all Village of McBride Scotiabank accounts, Municipal Finance authority and National Bank of Canada investment accounts.
Council also authorized Finance Coordinator, Sherri Flynn to acquire a Scotiabank debit card for the Village of McBride general chequing account. The ability to withdraw funds using the debit card will be deactivated, and will be used for bill payments, and deposits. The access provided by the card may be the only means of depositing funds after Scotiabank moves the local branch to Prince George.
In-camera
Council then proceeded into an In-Camera meeting for consideration of matters of the Community Charter related to section 90 (1)(c) Labour Relations or other employee relations; and (k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stage and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
The public portion of the meeting was adjourned at 6:08pm.
