From December to January spotting moose along the highways is a common sight in our region. They are the most widely distributed ungulates (term applied to any hoof
animal) in British Columbia. Found across almost the entire interior of the province, moose are most abundant in the central and sub-boreal interior, the northern boreal mountains, and the boreal plains of northeastern British Columbia. / SANDRA JAMES
