A new outdoor reading area has cropped up outside the Valemount library, thanks to some additional funding the library received this year. Library Director Wendy Cinnamon said a donation from Trans Mountain and funding from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Public Libraries Branch allowed them to purchase this item on their wishlist. “Thursday is when it was finished I think, and Saturday when I drove by there was a tourist sitting there making themselves some lunch,” she said. “So it’s an outdoor reading area, sheltered from the rain and sun.” She said the gazebo cost $4000 plus the cost of installation and concrete. Cinnamon says the library board will be refreshing their strategic plan in December to determine future projects and priorities. The library building and land is owned by the Village. /LAURA KEILRelated Posts:Valemount Library welcomes new directorLibrary outdoor space construction beginsSilent auction for library's outdoor garden spaceScotiabank employees donate gazeboNon-Profit Spotlight: Valemount Public LibraryPost navigationScotiabank announces McBride branch closureExtreme reservoir water fluctuations ensure a continuing wasteland
