The Robson Valley chapter of BC Backcountry Horsemen hosted another successful poker ride on Sat. Sept. 16th with 40 riders and 20 others participating. The event was held at the new McIntosh Equestrian Campground and Recreation Site on Belle Mountain. Attendees came from Valemount, Jasper, Dunster, McBride, Penny and Prince George.
Robson Valley Chapter President Eileen MacDonald says everyone was very pleased and excited about the new campground venue and the adjacent trail network recently completed by the Robson Valley Chapter. She says many who attended, camped with their horses at the campground which offers 15 sites including 22 corrals.
Food was donated by McBride TGP and AG Foods and a delicious meal of chili and corn was prepared by Tanya Philips and Kelly Harding.
“All riders received draw prizes donated by our wonderful and generous community residents and businesses,” MacDonald said.
Poker hand cash prizes went to Arlene Haugen 1st ($400), Shelly Cousineau 2nd ($200), and Nicole Hamill 3rd ($100). The very creative and interesting Booby prize for the worst poker hand was won by Lily Alexander.
The Robson Valley Chapter would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the volunteers, local residents and businesses who generously donated to this fundraiser. A special thank you to Leah, Wyatt, and Amber for providing the first aid van and qualified attendants. The 50\50 draw was won by Linsey Shalla!
“Thank you once again to this incredible community support!” MacDonald said.
