The area restriction on the Teare Creek wildfire zone was lifted May 29th. The familiar view from the halfway lookout point has changed drastically. Where there were several trees beginning to obstruct the view, there are now clean sightlines down into the valley with an ever-present autumnal feel with the golden orange reminder of the fire.
The fire came very close to consuming a memory-packed landmark. The cabin that contains so many years of carved names and memories still stands. The trees standing only a few feet away are scarred black, and one can reach the scorched needles by reaching out the window.
