I was searching for a hummingbird nest the other day when suddenly a mallard hen duck flew out of the grass and other deep vegetation barely 10 feet away. I carefully parted the grass to reveal her well hid down lined nest with 9 eggs. About 28 days after beginning incubation the eggs will hatch fairly close together over a 24 hour period. / LEON LORENZ
