Helicopters dumped water on an out-of-control wildfire sparked by lightning near Little Lost Lake near Tete Jaune Sunday May 21st. Smoke from the fire was visible for several days, but heavy rainfall aided with suppression efforts. Another lightning fire on Westridge was brought under control after thunderstorms rolled through the valley. A campfire ban was in effect since May 19th due to a high fire danger rating in much of the region before the weekend. /LAURA KEILRelated Posts:New lightning fires in the Valemount area UPDATEDBeaver River, Dunster-Croydon and Hailey Creek…"Sheared" storm cloud cause of mimicked smoke columnTwo lightning fires ignite near ValemountBC Wildfire investigating smoke south of ValemountPost navigationReturn of the HummingbirdsNorthern Flicker
