This squirrel was hanging out in the park collecting a pine cone for storage, stopping to observe the photographer standing at the bottom of the tree. Squirrels feed on seeds, nuts, acorns, tree buds, berries, leaves and twigs. Pine cones are one of the squirrels’ favourite foods, which are natural and healthy for them to eat and play an important role in the forest Ecosystem, providing food and shelter for many animals. They are also a valuable source of nutrition for squirrels, providing them with energy, minerals, vitamins, and fibre.
