These little black bear cubs which are approximately 16 weeks old have entered their most dangerous phase of their life when left alone at the den site. The mother has left them for a while as she is out and about scrounging for something to eat. A prowling predator like a wolf or coyote wouldn’t hesitate to add them to their menu. This is the second time one of these two cubs has been photographed. A little over a month ago, one of these, along with their mother, were featured in a rare photo showing them snug in their den. /LEON LORENZ
