Dunster Schoolhouse AuctionThe Dunster Schoolhouse Auction was a big success according to Brock Maguire, one of the organizers. Auctioneer Ken McNaughton, pictured here with daughter Kerry, called for the sale of 51 lots (bundles), bringing in approximately $8,000. The money raised will go towards improvements to the schoolhouse building. The improvements are being made so that community members can continue to use the space for events, plays, and yoga. Some community members use the building to get water as their homes do not have reliable water access. The Dunster Community Forest also uses a part of the building as office space. Following the sale, several of the attendees stayed for appetizers and several more hours of socializing. Maguire says about 60 people attended the event, and they hope to see it grow in the future. /SUBMITTED PHOTORelated Posts:Dunster Schoolhouse set to receive faceliftOld schoolhouse renovationNon-profit spotlight: Dunster Fine Arts School SocietyBRKH Custom Woodworking Ltd: Open for Business!Local anthology now in printPost navigationFood Bank benefits from BINGOHot Springs Hunt
