Amy Diesch places a bid in the McBride Farmers Institute silent auction for a small farm scene hand-crocheted by Elaine Robson. Two-year-old Ayla was having a great time pretending to eat the tiny vegetables and rearranging the scene so that the eggs were with the chickens and the bucket of milk with the cow. The set was one of 65 silent auction items available for bids. Vanessa Foord, Research Climatologist North Area also addressed the nearly 103 attendees of the event held on Saturday March 25th. Farmers Institute treasurer Chris Robson said that this was the first time they have been able to hold the annual event since COVID and they hope to return to it as a regular yearly event. The proceeds raised from the dinner and auction help support the local Farmers Institute by helping cover the yearly operating and maintenance costs. “It was a really good turn out,” said Robson. “I would like to thank everyone for their support; all the attendees, vendors and volunteers.” /ANDREA ARNOLDRelated Posts:Silent auction for library's outdoor garden spaceIndoor garage sale successNon-Profit Spot Light: Elks and Royal Purple ClubFarmers Market funDeadline for Young Agrarians mentorship program extendedPost navigationSimpcw declare Raush Valley Indigenous Protected AreaHowling success
