The first full moon of the new year, January’s Wolf Moon, was I’m sure enjoyed by many last Friday night. It’s thought that it came to be known as the Wolf Moon because wolves were more likely to be heard howling in January. Also, it’s known as a “micromoon” because of it being at its farthest point from Earth, more than 25,000 miles further than its average closest approach. This is due to its orbit path that is not in a perfect circle. /LEON LORENZRelated Posts:Shoot for the moon600-year eventHowling successBright moon on a cold dayGlobal Thoughts - Mining on the MoonPost navigationLocal family takes over Glacier Fire PizzeriaFigure Skating Jamboree gives skaters taste of competition
