Recently I spent a couple of weeks filming and exploring the Muskwa-Kechika wilderness in northern BC which is located about 200 km north of Fort St. John. From there a rugged ATV trail will enable one to travel deep into this pristine area. Once in as far as I wanted to go ( this trip 42 km from the Alaska Highway ) I set up a comfortable base camp with a wood stove in case the weather turned nasty. From there I backpacked daily into the mountains and side valleys in search of wildlife and other images. On my return trip out I met the guy who runs the trapline in this area who had his ATV side by side mired deep in one of the many mud-holes that challenge most machines. His winch had broken as tried to free himself. For 3 hours he and his friend struggled to get out without success. When I showed up with my 6X6 he was so happy and he said after I winched him out, “if you were a lady I would give you a kiss.” Overall it was a great trip with lots of challenges and special moments. /LEON LORENZRelated Posts:A new lounge you can't go to"Cold and wet" a real threat in the backcountryBC Bus renewed three yearsDog owners charged in April bear incidentExploring the KiwaPost navigationShoot for the moonBiz profile: Back Alley Artistry autobody repair
