Crescent butterflies are attracted to many nectar producing wildflowers. This beauty was fluttering through an open field during a sunny afternoon. The crescent butterfly (Phyciodes family) is a small orange and brown butterfly with various white spots and streaks. The Phyciodes family consists of a large number of these small butterflies.
