The first bears have awoken from their hibernation. This black bear was spotted near Dome Creek alongside HWY16, foraging. Upon waking up from hibernation, bears should be feeding on vegetation such as young grasses and sedges, a grass-like plant. Bears also have incredible memories and will return to areas where they have found food before, such as garbage bins and bird feeders, according to WildSafeBC. / SANDRA JAMESRelated Posts:Bears in BC take the brunt of negative human behaviourEditorial - Do we need a community strategy for…Conservation warns residents to be bear awareConservation Officers remind Robson Valley residents…Editorial - Bear safety begins with usPost navigationEmil Anderson completes McBride area road maintenceMcBride and District Hospital Auxiliary – Strawberry shortcake social returns
