I stopped in at the McKinnon Property along Hwy 16 April 21st to have a chat with Al McKinnon about a Poplar and Jackpine tree that have grown side by side for over 60 years. McKinnon said when he bought the 40-acre property in the 1970s the two trees were just small saplings. Over time the deciduous and evergreen trees have grown into each other, the branches of the popular tree embedded into the trunk of the jackpine tree. The bases of the trees have fused together. Al and his wife Lil have grown together with time as well. They have been inseparable just like the trees, leaning on each other for support in stormy weather. /TRISH GAIRRelated Posts:Quest for North Croyden history siteNew crab apple trees thanks to BC Hydro grantTree removal on 5th Avenue McBrideParks Canada searching for whitebark pines resistant…Windstormed!Post navigationMcBride Council – Curling club concerns, train station roof and mountain bike supportBell Mountain Motel expands
