A helicopter was used to put out a fire on the mountainside 1.5 to 2 km away from Leon Lorenz’ home in Dunster July 18th. The dropping water picture was taken from their yard with a long zoom lens. The fir tree in the bottom right corner is directly behind Lorenz’ house. Lorenz said they made numerous trips to the Fraser River to get water to extinguish the fire. The BC Wildfire Map lists the cause of the fire as lightning. /PHOTO LEON LORENZ
