Chris Hendrickson uses an excavator to compact the approach to the Valemount Community Forest’s new 27m steel bridge bridge over the Canoe River. It replaces a lightweight aluminum bridge installed by recreationalists to access Crystal Ridge. Valemount Area Recreation and Development manager Curtis Pawliuk said that the new bridge will allow for a full size groomer to maintain better access to the popular snowmobile assisted ski hill. VCF Manager Craig Pryor said the bridge is being built to access cut blocks and a new road on the far side won’t cross private land. /ANDRU MCCRACKENRelated Posts:Valemount ski runs won't have a tow this winterSki hill access pitched for COVID reliefCommunity Forest earnings down amid mill closuresRoad closed amid Tete Jaune bridge workCommunity ski hill in the works but not for this winterPost navigationRepairs underway at Valemount IGA, but temporary closures may continueCool treat on a hot day
