Nicole Breed is the winner of the Rocky Mountain Goat’s compost contest, and has received a “Wing-digger” compost stirrer donated by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George’s Waste Management division. Here’s what Nicole said in her entry: “Whilst fairly new to composting, I wanted to start to help reduce my landfill waste output. I like having somewhere to decompose my lawn clippings and raked leaves, as well as vegetable scraps, and this year am excited to be fertilizing my garden with my own compost for the first time!” Shown above: Nicole with her daughter Matilda and partner Sam /LAURA KEILRelated Posts:Compost Innovation: a compost-heated sauna and moreBlack gold: a deep dive into compostingThis week in photos: April 29 2021Valemount couple safe in SydneyTrash TalkPost navigationWalk/run marks Red Dress Day in ValemountSpike in backyard electrical incidents during pandemic: report
