The Valemount Visitor Services team earned a Travellers’ Choice award from TripAdvisor because of their consistently great reviews and their ranking in the top 10 percent of places to stop.
Reviewers found village staff friendly and knowledgeable.
“They gave us excellent suggestions on where to swim ( Lake Eleanor in Blue River), where to hike (Little Lost Lake & Berg Trail to Kinney Lake),” commented a reviewer who gave the place five stars. “Our three days there was wonderful, thanks to their advice.”
Mayor Owen Torgerson said he’s proud of staff.
“I’m super pleased with the award,” said Torgerson. “Hats off to staff.”
The village took over running the visitor information centre three years ago when the long-time contractors retired from the role.
