The section of frontage road that leads to the McBride Transfer Station has been deteriorating. This week, it received some much needed attention from the Public Works crew. The work this week was done during hours the transfer station was not open, so as to not interfere with traffic. The road has been returned to a usable state, and work is scheduled to be continued next week when the transfer station is closed. This first stage of repair involved the removal of the failed road bed and all resulting potholes. Fabric has been put in and a layer of coarse gravel has been spread. “Depending on the weather, this may be as far as we get this fall,” said John Peterson. “The plan is to put crush on in the spring to complete the road. However, if we get a window of appropriate weather, that may still happen this fall.” /ANDREA ARNOLDRelated Posts:Transfer station road TLCNo turning lane for transfer stationExpanded hours for Valemount transfer stationDump hours pilot concludesLocal woman lobbies for safer access to transfer stationPost navigationClarification/correction re: community forest appointmentsThere’s snow up there in the Renshaw
