The Village of Valemount has crafted four resolutions that will have some impact on the operations of the Valemount Community Forest and the Valemount Industrial Park.
Chief Administrative Officer Wayne Robinson said that the corporation has been doing a good job managing conflict of interest, by having directors leave the room when they are in conflict.
The village has asked that a schedule be established for each corporation’s annual general meeting and that there is an additional annual public meeting, as well as an annual meeting of partners.
Both the Valemount Community Forest and Valemount Industrial Park are Limited Partnerships, the village being the main shareholder with 99.999% of the interest.
Council has also asked staff to prepare a procurement and conflict of interest policy and bring it back to council for their consideration.
Village staff is also tasked with preparing a policy for the selection, appointment and termination of directors and to bring it back to council for their consideration.
