Even as the world screams ‘defund the police’ constables in the Robson Valley are aiming to ticket children in the hopes of making the community a safer, nicer place.
In addition to their regular duties Robson Valley RCMP will be on the lookout for kids being safe and being positive on local streets.
“Youth caught being safe and obeying the rules might be issued a positive ticket by an appreciative police officer,” said Constable Bill Mckenna.
He’ll be searching for kids on bikes wearing helmets, crossing at crosswalks and obeying cycling rules of the road.
Tickets can be redeemed for a small free slushy drink from the Valemount Petro-Canada.
