On September 11, 2019, members of McBride Emergency Services participated in an annual memorial march remembering their American counterparts that were directly affected by the events that occurred 18 years ago.” Fire Chief David Hruby has been a part of 17 of these marches, and each year, addresses the participants preceding a moment of silence held when the group reaches the end of main street. “It was a very tragic event for all in the world,” said Hruby. “We remember all the Emergency Responders that rush in, no matter what the danger, when everyone else is rushing out. There were over 400 responders that lost their lives that day.” Many survivors still have to deal with and suffer from the effects of the event. We cannot forget their families that suffer along with them. We are all family, where no border can separate us.” /ANDREA ARNOLDRelated Posts:Editorial -Valley solidarity in UkraineThis week in photos: Sept 3 2020Solidarity in Isolation: local photographer's…Remembering stolen sistersEditorial: Urgent light in the darkPost navigationValemount woman dies in crashMcBride Council: Herd Planning Committee; regional district seat
