Allan Frederick (chair – far right) and Diane Smith (village representative – middle), of the McBride Community Foundation Endowment Committee presented several organizations with cheques before the May 14th council meeting. Organizations applied for funding earlier this year and the following groups applications were successful. In order from left to right in the photo: McBride District Library – $300 – Glen Foster, Dunster Community Association – $1000 – Loretta Simpson, Seventh Day Adventist Food Bank – $1000 – Ron Simanton, Open Gate Community Garden – $835 – Penny Rivard, Fraser Headwater Alliance – $350 – Al Birnie, They have also set aside up to $500 to award to a grade 12 student in June. /ANDREA ARNOLD
