John in 2017, enjoying the lush garden designed by his mother. / SUBMITTED About 20 kids from the Robson Valley travelled to a town called Vicente Guerrero on the Baja Peninsula in Mexico to build homes for the poor. For Saeda Rose who lives in Dunster and attends McBride Secondary School it was an empowering experience. Many hands make light work. Students from Valemount and McBride made the trip to Vicente Guerrero in Baja California, Mexico in March. Organized by a group called Live Different, the idea is to do some good, and set youth on an empowering path. On their journey, the group built a number of homes. Saeda Rose and Seth MacDonald stand proudly in front of a completed home. The father-daughter team withstood the gruelling 40-hour bus trip along with 20 participants from McBride and Valemount.
