Pioneer Days celebrated everything McBride has going for it, and council didn’t miss the chance to show off. Council’s float touted the community’s new branding as Gateway to the Ancient Forest, their recent win of the Sledtown Showdown, and the progress being made on their Mountain Trail Network. Mayor Loranne Martin and Councillor Rick Thompson rode the snowmobile and bicycle, Councillors Rosemary Hruby and Lucille Green distributed the candy, while councillor Harold Edwards appeared to hold the reins. The massive parade more than justified the trip for families from all over; there were also logger sports, games, a baseball tournament, a sword fighting demonstration and live music by musicians like Laurel and Coral. /ANDRU MCCRACKEN & SYDNEY PHILPOTT Related Posts:Editorial - Making MemoriesPioneer Days back in June 2022Pioneer Days & McBride Secondary reunionPioneer Days planning underwayEditorial - Being a tourist at homePost navigationPhantom of the O’prySimpcw Council sworn in
