Melanie Ford, the Scotiabank branch manager, stands next to the collection boxes, and community members Mary Hooker and Rose Lucius were lucky enough to get some of the last items at the table. The Scotiabank team donated their time and baking to put on a fundraiser for the BC Children’s Hospital on Friday. The goods went fast. The sale started at 11:00 am, and by noon the table was nearly sold out. The team also raffled of a “Outdoor Retreat” set, won by the lucky Mr. Craig Arnold. The combined sales of the raffle tickets and baked goods (as well as soft-serve ice cream) brought in just shy of $900, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the BC Children’s Hospital. /SYDNEY PHILPOTT
