On April 1st, 2018 a passing motorist located a hockey bag containing snowmobiling equipment on Hwy 5 N, just outside Valemount village limits. To date, the bag has not been claimed. If you believe the bag may belong to you, please attend the Valemount RCMP Detachment. Please note that the bag’s contents are unique and anyone claiming to be the owner will be asked to describe the items inside.
On April 15th, 2018 Valemount RCMP attended a report of mischief at the Dduk Bae Kie Restaurant on 5th Ave. Sometime overnight between the 14th and 15th, unknown suspect(s) caused significant damage to the restaurant’s LED light system, as well as displaced other restaurant property. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the Valemount RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
On May 5th, 2018 at 1:15 pm the Valemount RCMP were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire on Hwy 16 E near Goslin Rd in Tete Jaune Cache. A tractor trailer hauling heavy machinery caught fire, quickly engulfing the unit. Hwy 16 was closed for several hours as a safety precaution while the fire burned out. The driver of the tractor unit was unharmed, and the unit was towed from the scene once deemed safe to do so.
