A dozen people gathered at the Dunster Schoolhouse recently to create mixed-media Christmas mandalas.
A mandala (in Sanscrit literally “circle”) is a spiritual symbol in Budhism and Hinduism and is used to represent the Universe.
Participants used paint, wood, buttons, twigs and stones to create different shapes, symbols and colours. According to organizers, the Mandala art can reflect one’s inner world.
The event was organized by Judith de Niet and Nancy Taylor, the Robson Valley Arts and Culture Council and Community Literacy Outreach and was funded by New Horizons for Seniors.
