If someone was looking to make a fuss, they didn’t get it last week.
The day after the Community Christmas Tree was lit up on late-night shopping Friday, a passerby noticed all but one guy-wire (yellow rope) had been cut. The rope was there to ensure the tree stayed upright and didn’t topple. But Christmas Tree organizer Marian Plummer cut right to the chase.
She and other local helpers quickly fixed the tree and she posted online asking community members not to write any negative comments. “Just keep your eyes open to make sure things stay nice… If there’s any vandalism, just phone me and we’ll keep fixing. Don’t let the bad actions of others destroy our Christmas Spirit,we’re trying to rekindle in the community.”
Another commenter agreed, saying “Someone needs a hug or two.”
