New fire hydrants in McBride are Coral’s canvasses in a continuation of the Whistle Stop Gallery’s painted hydrant project begun 10 years ago with artist Bryony Griffiths. The train crew theme, sponsored by Beanery 2 in McBride’s railway station, was inspired by engineer SuSanne. The other two hydrants are modelled after Everett and Dorothy Monroe / MATTHEW WHEELER AND SHEILAGH FOSTER
