The Village of Valemount has voted to allow up to two elected representatives to attend up to four consecutive Council meetings via phone or video conference, though in camera meetings (those done in private about sensitive government business) will not be eligible for electronic attendance. There are usually two regular Council meetings per month, but Council may call special meetings if needed.

Councillors cannot miss more than four consecutive meetings (or 60 days, whichever is longer). Now, should they be out of town, they can attend by phone or video conference up to four consecutive times, or more if Council gives its approval.
