Council has voted to remove travel claim forms from the public portion of Council Agendas.
The former bylaw stated that in order to be reimbursed, Councillors and the Mayor had to submit a travel claim form and report about their travel in the public Council agenda.
The amended bylaw will not require that the forms be made public or that elected representatives provide a public report about their travelling.
They will still have to submit a travel claim form to Village staff.
Council also passed a two per cent cost of living increase to their wages. The salary for mayor for 2016 is $18,018.25 and for councillors it’s $8,108.25
