Over 50 artisans, crafters, keen cooks and creative types, local and from further afield, gathered to hawk their wares in time for Christmas at the Valemount Christmas Craft fair this past weekend.
Above: ‘Mountains and Monsters”- handmade, in Jasper, were a visual delight; Beth Russell, Sheri Gee and Bella Woroshelo battle it out with yoyos; Johan Raes of Helmcken Chocolates, from Clearwater, dishing out the good stuff at the Valemount Craft Fair last weekend where hundreds of people came to shop.
The grad class raised over $900 in the junk food raffle and the cake walk combined, and the basketball teams raised about $2400 from table rentals, the concession, Galaxy Tablet raffle ticket sales and Purdy’s chocolate sales (before expenses). Riette Kenkel, one of the organizers, says many of the vendors said sales were great and that it was the best craft fair in a long time.
