Members of the Valemount Marina Association officially opened the new moorage docks on Saturday morning, during the annual fishing derby. President of the board Owen Torgerson says it started with investment from four members, Cross Country Sales and Services, Maxwell family, Turn 1 and Whisper Creek Log Homes, as well as the association, matched by funding from Columbia Basin Trust. The 20, 16-foot sections took 200 cleats, 100 solar lights, and over 300 volunteer hours to build and install, plus donated machine time from various members of the community.
