BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) held New Employee Orientation training in McBride from July 8 – 12. Laine Smith, BCAS Education Officer provided instruction. New employees were trained in CPR, occupational safety and health, injury prevention, use and care of ambulance equipment, lifting and carrying techniques and the operation of an emergency vehicle. The last day of training was held at the airport, and involved driving the ambulance through a series of obstacle courses. McBride Ambulance crew has five new employees receiving orientation, who responded to a recruitment drive held earlier this year. The training event was spearheaded by Rodger Peterson, Elaine Robson and Sarah Bressette.
