Kristine Drader cut the ribbon on a new bench honoring 100 years of Canada Post employees in McBride. It’s actual been 101 years now, but the plaque wasn’t ready when the village celebrated last year. The bench cost over $1,000, and Drader said a donation from McBride Community Forest Corporation helped bring it into existence, along with the work of burger flippers from last year’s fundraiser, and “everybody that supports Canada Post.” With Drader is Phyllis Toews, who was postmaster in McBride for 14 years.
