The geese are coming back to Valemount’s Cranberry Marsh, and they have company: local photographer Bob Hoskins was delighted to capture a group of trumpeter swans sharing the wildlife sanctuary with their more familiar relatives, whose migratory patterns punctuate the turns of season. Trumpeter swans (cygnus buccinator) are, on average, the heaviest birds native to North America, and the largest waterfowl in the world.
