In October, Bob Hoskins (second to left) contacted VIA Rail to complain about a damaged sign marking VIA’s stop in Valemount. The sign has been damaged for about four years.
Last week, a replacement sign arrived at the Village office. The new sign is lighter, and not solid metal like the damaged sign, but it appears sturdy enough. Hoskins joined local rail enthusiast Matthew Wheeler (far left) and outgoing Mayor Andru McCracken (right) to install the sign, with some track protection from CN supervisor Pete Pearson.
