The first street light in the Robson Valley was installed over the weekend on Highway 5 at the intersection with 5th Avenue in Valemount.
“A lot of people really wouldn’t think a stop light is a big deal,” said MLA Shirley Bond at the announcement of the $400,000 project in September, “but here, it is.”
Recent Library upgrades. A new power door, allowing better access for people with mobility challenges has been installed on the west side of the Valemount Library. The project was supported by funding the Village of Valemount received from the federal Enabling Accessibility program.
Seen at bottom under a light skiff of snow, stones for the outside chess and checker board were recently installed by Jared Martin, with funding from Northern Health’s Healthy Communities Committee. And the Library has also had a new sign installed, built by Peggy Hubley and Tom Jamin.
“All awesome improvements and great additions to the community,” says Chief Librarian Wendy Cinnamon.
