The McBride Graduation ceremony and dinner was celebrated by 420 grads, family and friends June 21. The event, held at the hockey rink, included an awesome dinner followed by music provided by DJ Gabe Bressette. In the words of Principal Shaw, ‘A Good Time was had by all.” He emphasized that students had worked hard and had a strong group spirit throughout their years.
The McBride High School Awards Night went ahead, despite the labour strike, on June 18th with about 150 in attendance. Principal Shaw MC’d the event and a commencement address was given by Susan Johnston, assistant superintendent of the school district. Principal Shaw also recognized the amazing group of community supporters who have coached various teams, and fulfilled a myriad of other duties around the school this year.
