Did you make it? I don’t mean did you make the cut – I mean did you make it to the show as a spectator?
Valemount Idol – which drew talent from across the Valley – is one of the year’s biggest events. The audience was shoulder-to-shoulder with spill-over into the lobby. The talent – both on stage and off-stage in the production side – was incredible. The event was pulled together in a little over a month with dozens of volunteers and sponsors. The lead organizers were from the Valemount Sports Day committee and the Valemount Arts and Cultural Society. Gord Peters from Valemount Community TV helped produce and film the show.
Costumes were done by Donalda Beeson, sound by Jerry Osadchuk and Seth McDonald. Lighting was done by Tom Jamin. Many more volunteers pitched in to collect tickets, sell 50/50 tickets, operate a camera, solicit sponsors, and decorate the set. Two dozen local businesses and families sponsored the event by donating money or in-kind donations.
If you missed the show you can watch it on VCTV coming soon.
